This seasonal time marks the beginning of spring, the actual date when the temperatures start rising-—- halfway between Winter Solstice and Spring Equinox. A time of returning light~
This is the state known as ‘liminality’, from the Latin, limen: a threshold—
the state of being IN BETWEEN places and times.
In some traditions this is a sacred time when the doors between the worlds are open and magical events occur.
Since it is a time of new beginnings, this is a good day to ritually celebrate all things new, an especially powerful thing to do in a group.
The woman at Candlemas is purified,
cleansed from the old ways of Be-ing.
She accepts a new order of her own choice.
She has trust and hope in what is to come.
She has Certainty on her path.
We shall reflect on your hopes for the coming year.
